Westside Recreation Centre, Calgary – Head Lifeguard
Position Description:
To ensure the safe and efficient daily operations of the aquatic area, direct supervision of staff on shift and daily aquatic area maintenance. .
-
* Life guarding and instructing as required, mentor and role model for other staff
* Assist with facility promotion and public relations
* Ensure the safe and fun practice of all the facility policies and procedures
* Keep area clean and ensures things are stored in appropriate manner
* Ensures necessary administration is completed and accurate
* Full time and part time position available with variable hours/shifts during the day, evenings and weekends
Qualifications / Skills Required:
-
* 2 (two) years of applicable aquatic experience, previous experience in a senior level position
* Leadership Instructor or Instructor Trainer Awards an asset
* Water Safety Instructor
* Life Saving Instructor/Swim for Life Instructor
* National Lifeguard Service Award
* Standard First Aid & CPR
* Head Lifeguard Course Certificate
* AFLCA/CALA Fitness Certification is an asset
Note: Candidate must provide proof of awards
