Nature and Scope:

Reporting to the Program Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring excellence in member service through the administration of all aquatic programs.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the provision of a safe aquatic environment through the hiring, supervision and training of lifeguards, instructors and volunteers;
• Develop, control and evaluate the aquatic area budget including the purchase of equipment;
• Evaluate and monitor the consistent delivery of aquatic services;
• Provide leadership training for all aquatic staff through role modeling and coaching;
• Represent Eau Claire YMCA or Crowfoot YMCA on the Association Aquatic Workgroup;
• Communicate effectively in a variety of settings; and
• Offer support to the rest of the Program department and branch as needed including performing Duty Manager shifts, conducting subsidy appointments and campaigning for the YMCA Strong Kids campaign.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related degree preferred;
• Minimum two years aquatic supervisory experience;
• YMCA Swim Instructor;
• Current Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR;
• NLS Instructor preferred;
• YMCA Canada Aquatic Trainer certification preferred; and
• YMCA/AFLCA Aquatic Instructor certification is an asset.

Salary: $40,152.94/yr (competitive benefits package including pension plan)
