CLASSIFICATION: Pool Shift Supervisor I
REPORTS TO: Pool Shift Supervisor II & Aquatic Centre Supervisor
SHIFT: Recreation Division: Shift, weekend, and overtime as per operational schedules.
RATE OF PAY: Starting Wage $16.15/hr, One Year Rate $17.80/hr
POSTING PERIOD: April 1, 2009 to April 14th
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
The City of Brooks requires a Pool Shift Supervisor I in the Recreation & Parks Services Department. This is a permanent position, primarily involved at the Aquatic Centre. The Incumbent must be experienced in basic pool operations, custodial and trouble-shooting techniques related to Aquatics. The incumbent will supervise and participate fully as a Lifeguard, and instruct Red Cross and Life Saving Courses. The incumbent will also assist the Aquatic Supervisor and Pool Shift Supervisor II’s in the implementation of Aquatic programming.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Grade Twelve education or equivalent is required.
2. National Lifeguard Service
3. Water Safety Instructor
4. Standard First Aid Certification/ Aquatic Emergency Care
5. Pool Operator I Certificate
6. Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Lifesaving Instructor / Bronze Examiner.
2. One to two years of aquatic experience
