Whirlpool

Purpose: Show the danger of currents

Description:

1. Have students hold hands in a circle in shallow water, if possible near the corner of the pool.


2. while holding hands tell students to begin to run in one direction.


3. when an effective circular current occurs, yell, “Swim” and have all students try to swim against the current.


4. Discuss the dangers of currents and how hard it was to swim.
